The Hume City Swimming Club was registered as an Incorporated Body in 1991. This makes us 21years old next year and we are planning to celebrate this event.
Even though we already have some ideas, we would like to get some more ideas as to how to both celebrate this event and gain new members, so please see a committee member or the Club Captains if you have ideas. The only thing l will say, is that if you have an idea you may be asked to assist in helping us carry out the idea (please remember that the committee are all volunteers giving up their own time for the club)
Some of the ideas are to hold a BBQ in the lawn area at the front of the CLC (with permissions of CLC of course), having the CLC blow up pool toys available, brochures available, plenty of signs around the area, local Councillors, Federal & State Government representative attending, Swimming victoria and Metro West representatives, etc. The idea is to plan big.
Don't forget that even though we are called "Hume City Swimming Club" there are other swimming clubs in the city of Hume. These clubs are in Broadmeadows and Sunbury. Please support these clubs by word of mouth, that is, if you come across someone who wants to compete in a club, and they live in one of these areas, then suggest that they look into both our club and these other clubs. If they are like myself, they may not even know that there is a local club for them. My children learned to swim at the Leisure Centre for about 3 years and we didn't even know that the Club existed. Let's make the next 12months the year of growth for all the swimming clubs in Hume city
